...wtf???

Well, quite honestly, what we're examining here is not whether a bear defecates in a densely wooded area, but the meaning behind the saying. We are, in fact, delving into the philosophy and culture behind the bear. My friends, we're diving into poop.

How is it used?

By "it", we refer to the saying, "Does a bear poop in the woods?" In this capsule, we'll try to examine the uses of this rather obtuse proclamation.

This question is more simply and more commonly used as a statement, or answer to a question. Most often, it is a response that has a meaning equal to that of "Did you honestly just ask that question? You're an idiot." For example, let's make up a short dialogue to see how it's used.

Broseph - "Yo, dude... do bees make honey?"

Smartin - "Does a bear poop in the woods?"

Here we can easily see the stupidity of Broseph's question, and the oh so effective use of "it" by Smartin. Smartin is not just telling Broseph how much of an idiot he was for asking such a question, but also responding positively, and affirming Broseph's inkling. So, although "it" is often used as a mild zing or insult, in the end the asker does in fact get his answer. Probably.

Origin

Where did the saying come from? Who was the inventor? No one knows. But I'm sure he was a total bro. And it was definitely a he. A woman would be in the kitchen making a sandwich, not in the woods trying to figure out the mysteries of life.

Who uses "it"?

Anybody! If you've an ounce of wit, or a pint of funny, or even a quart of HA, then this saying is for you. It's a humorous saying for humorous people, and can help even the dullest of people to crack smiles.

Well... do they?

Does a bear poop in the woods? Let me respond to that by asking you this... does a bear poop in the woods?

Your say!

  • He's a bear... he does what he wants.
  • Irrelevant!
  • LOL B3@RZ!!!
